Our Kids Enjoyed Their Christmas Holiday

Our kids were all excited for the Christmas holiday and they eagerly waited to join their new classes in January. Talia has learned a lot from school. She’s singing songs, drawing, saying some memory verses and she can even speak some French. When Ashley, Kendi and Peter read storybooks, Talia is quiet and she looks at the pictures. Ashley was number 3 at her class. She had a great time during the holiday because she got to play with friends from home.

Kendi likes farming so this season she has planted some maize, pumpkin and peas. She’s been teaching Ashley so Ashley also planted some things too. Kendi took her National Examination before school closed last year. Mwendi loves football, so when he finished with his chores, so he always gathers his friends and plays. They didn’t have homework so they had lots of extra time to play.

A member of Teresa’s church was shocked when she came from doing people’s laundry to find out that her drunk and abusive husband had burned their 7-year-old son (Prince Munene) with hot tea on his private parts and threw a glass which broke that cut the boy on the arm and knee. Immediately she called Teresa and they took the boy to the hospital. They’re still at the hospital. Every few days Teresa goes to check up on them and pray with them.. The father hasn’t been found.

Another lady at the church has a niece named Hope Mwende. Hope has diabetes and a brain tumor. She has been in and out of the hospital but her tumor is still growing. Recently Hope was kicked out of the hospital because her family could no longer pay for the hospital bed. Now they are observing Hope from home. Teresa has been visiting them and praying with them and believes that God will heal Hope.

Naomi, a little girl from the church, was diagnosed with stomach cancer. She has been taken to the hospital several times and the treatment had failed to heal her. So, one Sunday morning Naomi’s mama came to church with her daughter. After explaining the situation to Teresa, they prayed. A week later when they went back to the hospital for a checkup, they came away happy because Naomi is completely healed!

Below is a copy of the email I sent our son Eric last month:

Eric, we hear that your bike was taken and right now you’re not driving the *BIG ONES*. First of all, we love you and are commanding satan to back down. Psalms 34:10 says that the young lions do hunger but they that trust in the Lord will lack no good thing. This is either true or God is a liar. Of course, He’s not. The economy of Kenya doesn’t want you to succeed, but God does.

Read Psalms 1. When you search for God you will find Him. Yes it would be great if someone helped you out now. But you are in Kenya and satan constantly attacks all of you. We were there 20+ years.

At first we were constantly lacking money until we changed our thinking. Several times we put our American house up for collateral to borrow money to feed you guys. We could have lost our home. Our money didn’t suddenly increase but we went from economic dangers to prosperity when we gave thanks for what we had and stopped complaining that it wasn’t enough. Then we started giving at least 10% to someone outside our ministry or family. Always give first because it will be gone if you wait until everything else is paid. God promises are yours when you focus on Him first. – Matthew 6:33

We love you.

Blessings, Mama

The BIG ONES – Eric operates road construction equipment which is a good job as long as corruption doesn’t steal the money. When the money stops, the BIG ONES stop. This happens 2 or 3 times a year. That’s when Eric uses his motorcycle to make money.

Friends, God’s Promises Are Yours Too!
