Ocean breezes, and sandy beaches welcomed us to Kenya as we ministered on the Indian Ocean Coast. But the most beautiful blessings we experienced were our students’ testimonies. Here’s a few of their testimonies:

Pastor Jervis/Mtwapa NBC – “I stopped condemning God’s people and begun embracing them and praying for them- even the ones in illegal activities.”

Pastor Peter/Majembeni NBC – “I went to other Bible colleges but would read God’s word like a newspaper.  Now I read it and gain revelations that are changing my life.”

Jakuna/Lamu NBC – “I used to fear God a lot.  Now I am confident, knowing God’s love for me is free and unconditional.”

Timila/Malindi NBC –  “My husband and I have been pastoring a church for years, but I didn’t get born-again until I came to NEEMA.”

These monkeys ate breakfast with us when we were out at our Bible Colleges on the Indian Ocean Coast. We just peeled a banana and presto the whole troop came. Jumping in and out of the door! Snatching bits of bread and fruit from each other! Isn’t’ that at bit like us? Snatching bits of doctrine from God’s Word. Fighting over the ones we hold to be most sacred while ignoring others completely. In Acts 20:27 The Apostle Paul admonishes church leaders to “Declare the whole counsel of God.” Through NEEEMA Bible College our goal is to teach God’s whole counsel.

Breakfast is Ready!

Grace

group of refugees

Up Date: DRC Refugees Kenyan News/June 2025 asked for prayers for the refugees from the DRC. All the young women returned to the Congo and the men fled to various places in Kenya. Their leader Munvano Hamuli Neema, is with us at HOGK/Meru.

We call him Grace around here. This week we asked 23-year-old Grace to tell us his story:

“When the M23 rebels took over, they  shut down banks, businesses, markets, and stole people’s food. My work as a graphic designer suddenly stopped and I was no longer able to help my parents provide for the family needs. I’m the oldest son in a family of 9 children. A month after M23 took the city of Goma, they began rounding up all of the men fit for war to join their army or be shot in the head. Some boys as young as 12 were taken.

Me and some neighbor boys were able to get away. However, one of my classmates was captured and force to operate bombs and missiles for the M23 rebels – Eventually he was commanded to track down me and any other of his classmates he could find.

Now I knew I had to flee my country. By the grace of God, I managed to escape with 20 other people sneaking through Uganda and  into western Kenya. There we were taken in by a church and Neema Bible College. Because of people’s obedience to God, I and the other refugees had enough to eat. We were there for about 3 months before our visitor visas expired. I have chosen to stay in Kenya and HOGK helped me extend my visa. That’s when Dennis helped me relocate to Heart of God headquarters in Meru Kenya. (for details of the DRC refugees escape see Kenyan News June 2025 on heartofgodkenya.com).”

Grace says that he loves being here in Kenya and when asked if he could describe the difference between Kenya and the DRC he just answered, “in Meru there is a lot of Peace.” Some day he wants to continue a graphic design career here in Kenya. For now, Grace is working in our office and continuing his studies in NEEMA Bible College.

Family News: Apoche is all grown-up and manages a 60-unit apartment complex in Nairobi. That’s a long way from Ngaremara, the desert village where she was born. Apoche was a tough street-kid when she became our daughter in 2005. She is now free from HIV and tuberculosis. Free from anger and self-hatred. Today her joy is contagious. Now she is encouraging others to find their way by trusting Christ Jesus.

“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” – III John 1:4
