Mission: DRC Refugees
March 2025: The slaughtering of entire families in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has escalated since January.. we were first made aware of this situation when Pastor Sabastian – Kenyan leader of Influence 7 – sent vivid images of entire families slaughtered and thousands of homes destroyed. The media in the West is strangely quiet about this. However, Pastor Sebastian of Influence 7 did not keep quiet but went to the aid of his church in Goma.
March 2025: Influence 7 Ministry brought 15 Christians out of war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo. Heart of God then joined to disciple them. And because of our partners’ generosity, we have been able to help buy food and other supplies for them.
NEEMA Bible College sent teachers to disciple the DRC refugees to prepare them to return to the DRC. The revelation of God’s love and the knowledge of who they are in Christ will equip them when they return home.
The Holy Spirit gave Sabastian-Kenyan leader of Influence 7- divine instructions on how to help them escape the DRC.
First he purchased Red Cross t-shirts and reflectors, disguising them as Red Cross crews. Then he made a deal with the Rebels, and got them into a van that took them to the Rwanda border. Next some of them were smuggled on to busses by hiding in vegetable sacks. The Rebels at the border of Rwanda kept asking for more and more money. It was very expensive, tricky and dangerous, but angels were sent to blind the eyes of the enemy.
Then they crossed over into Uganda and he got them into a 14-seater shuttle van which took them around Lake Victoria to Kenya’s border. Pastor Sebastian and his family invited the refugees to stay with them.
That’s when Influence 7 asked Heart of God to unite with them. Because Mike and Pat have known the missionaries of Influence 7- Glen and Marjorie Broce since 2008, we were glad to join this unique mission.
On May 19 Director Dennis called and the Congolese’ Refugee Visas are up at the end of May. PLEASE PRAY for them as they return to the DRC. According to the news reports, the fighting is still raging there. One of the refugees has decided to come to Meru with Dennis to continue his studies at NEEMA Bible College.

Dr. Kiogoro & Wife Teaching
NEEMA/Coastal Region/Lamu is preparing for their 1st graduation in June. Their last course was on marriage and NBC teachers traveled together with the wives to testify that following God’s plans for marriage has blessed them with strong families.
3 Biblical Reasons for Marriage
Unity/Companionship – Two are better than one – Ecclesiastes 4:9
Raising Children – All thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of thy children – Isaiah 54:13
Vision – Without a Vision, the people perish – Proverbs 29:18

Excerpt from NEEMA’s Course ‘Marriage, Family and the Christian Home’: A good marriage is not made overnight. It takes time, a lifetime. A good marriage is like building a house. First there has to be a good foundation in Jesus Christ. Your marriage will stand through the storms of life only when it is founded on Jesus and His Word. “Except the Lord builds the house they labor in vain that build it.” – Psalms 127:1
One of our greatest joys as missionaries is to share God’s marvelous design for marriage with our students and then have the privilege of mentoring them as they build their families on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.
Beautiful flowers and lasting promises fill us all with hope of a beautiful, dream-filled future. Whether in Kenya, America or anywhere in the world, when vows are exchanged and promises made, new life has begun!
Kenyan tribal traditions such as bride-price which could be 2 cows, 3 goats or even drugs often puts the groom in debt to his in-laws even before the ceremony has begun.
Many marriages end when the bride-price isn’t paid quick enough and the bride returns to her father. If there are children, the husband will keep them and many times gives them to his mother to raise and the whole family is torn apart. Or when the price is paid, and the glow of the honey-moon is over, the husband constantly reminds his wife that he paid for her and now she MUST serve his every wish. These and other tribal traditions destroy marriages.

News From the TASSIA WELL
It’s been 4 good years since we drilled the bore hole. The bore hole is still producing an abundance of fresh water all year long. The Kenyan government has now built a school by the well. And recently added a solar pump and large storage tanks so that the whole community now has fresh water. Thanks to all of you who gave the $30,000 to give this amazing lifegiving gift to the Maasai Tribe. Your gifts are establishing a permanent home for the Massai Tribe.
HEART of GOD CHURCH
At first, only the children and mamas came to worship but now the men came too. Now over 100 people gather to praise Jesus. This includes the men who NEVER came at first. Now these men come because they see that our love and care for their families is genuine and long-lasting.

Philippians 4:19 – “And my God shall supply all YOUR needs according to His riches in glory.”
The Apostle Paul prayed this to his partners. And we pray it for you, our partners. Your love, prayers and gifts make it possible to share the real heart of God to the people of Africa. Blessings!
