Last week Heart of God Kenya united with *Influence 7 Ministry in rescuing refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and we wanted to inform you, our partners. As you know, our mandate is Taking the Gospel of Grace to the Nations. Last week, however, a group of refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo came to us. They can only be in Kenya 90 days. Their leaders – whom we already have relationship with – have requested that our NEEMA Bible College disciple them while they’re here in Kenya. We are already in Mbali where they are staying. NEEMA classes started there several months ago. Dennis Mugambi – Heart of God National Director – traveled there this past Sunday, surveying the situation.

We Need You To Pray. 6 more refugees are fleeing as I write. Here some details of the first flight to freedom:

Influence 7 Ministry brought 15 Christians out of war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo this month. The Holy Spirit gave Sabastian – Kenyan leader of Influence 7 – divine instructions on how to help them escape. First, he purchased Red Cross t-shirts and reflectors, disguising them as Red Cross workers. Then he made a deal with the Rebels, and got them into a van that took them to the Rwanda border.

Next, some of them were smuggled on to busses by hiding in vegetable sacks. The Rebels at the border of Rwanda kept asking for more and more money. It grew very expensive, tricky and dangerous, but angels were sent to blind the eyes of the enemy. They crossed over into Uganda and he got them into a 14-seater shuttle van which took them around Lake Victoria to Kenyan’s border. Sabastian has them in his home now.

Heart of God Kenya has joined Influence 7’s efforts to feed them and start teaching them the Gospel of God’s amazing love and grace, and their authority as believers. This is a unique window of opportunity to share the love of God to people that have lived in a war zone all their lives. And now their home in Goma has been taken hostage by the M23 Rebels, also called Congolese Revolutionary Army.

PRAY THAT THEIR HEARTS WILL BE SOFTENED SO THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT CAN REVEAL GOD’S AMAZING LOVE AND GRACE FOR THEM.
