United in Christ
What a pleasant surprise it was when Dan Gariepy asked if he could bring his Bible College students from Belize-Central America-to Kenya on a mission’s trip. Come on down, we excitedly answered. For 5 jam-packed weeks, Garden Bible School and NEEMA Bible College hit the road ministering together: in markets, on street corners, door-to-door, and in churches.
Here’s Their Report: As we went, countless people were impacted with the love and power of Jesus. Everywhere we went, we saw God at work—bringing salvations, multiple healings, hope, and encouragement. We witnessed people surrender their lives to Christ, believers and pastors refreshed in their faith, and we had meaningful opportunities to share with several Muslims about the love of Jesus.
Sharing Jesus
Papa: We still have a lot of work to do in Lamu County. The good news is since we have been in Lamu, terrorism from Al Shabaab has stopped. When we first got there, people were confessing, “They are killing us, they want us out, we are hopeless and helpless.” But now, AL Shabaab is completely gone. Families are back to their farms and people are thriving. Pastors and church members in Lamu now know who they are in Christ and what they can do through Christ. They have heard the good news that God loves them.
Thank you, papa and all the financial and prayer partners. Lamu will never again be a place where Christians are slaughtered by Al-Shabaab.
Victor: Thanks for the wonderful news about peace in Lamu. I got on the internet and there are still attacks in areas of Lamu. Can you be more specific about where the attacks have stopped so I can relay this good report to our supporters? Thank you.
Papa: The areas where we have ministry in Lamu have mainly remained calm and we give glory to God. The main corridor along the Garsen–Witu–Lamu highway, including Mpeketoni, Kibaoni, Majembeni, Hindi, and Mokowe, has remained generally calm and stable without major security incidents since NEEMA is in these towns.
However, there are areas: Boni Forest Sector (Milimani, Baure, Bodhei, Mangai): We must bring the gospel to these areas too
Wake Up America!!! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is bringing peace to the very areas of Kenya which had over 90 attacks in 2023. God is no respecter of persons therefore the Gospel of Jesus Christ can defeat the terrorists that threaten the USA.

As Pastor Elijah entered his mama’s house, he caught sight of a snake racing across her floor. SLAM! BANG! BAM! Survival instincts kicked in and he clobbered it with his jembe’ (garden hoe). Wanting to throw the snake away before his mama came back, he bent down to grab it, but as he did the cobra sprung to life, spitting in Elijah’s eyes. Stumbling blindly his spirit yelled, “In Jesus’ name nothing can harm me!” Instantly the blinding poison was neutralized and with a swift, final blow with his jembe’ the spitting cobra was beheaded.
Sorry, there’s no picture. Let’s be real. This testimony is about a cobra and I NEVER- NO NEVER WOULD STICK AROUND LONG ENOUGH TO TAKE A PICTURE OF A SNAKE. [Eve, you know, Adam’s wife, sure was a strange creature who actually had a 90-word conversation with a snake. That’s hard-to-believe but it’s in the Bible-so it’s true.] Anyway, this testimony is also true-even though it’s hard to believe.

Thanks for the prayers for my back and hips. Yes, I the great woman-of-faith was desperately searching for the elusive Fountain of Youth. X-rays, MRI’s, injections and mind-robbing drugs. NOT WORKING !!! But God, exercise, tape?, are helping. THIS PAIN MUST GO.. And we will go back to Kenya. Mike keeps busy with HOGK accounting and driving, while I continue writing curriculum and newsletters.
